Blair Dunlop, the award-winning British singer, songwriter and guitarist, has now released three albums and two EPs in a short four-year career. He has toured widely and comes to Festival of the Artisan fresh from a series of gigs in Australia.
Blair Dunlop is an astonishingly gifted guitarist, a wonderful songsmith and an impressive live performer. He is a winner of the BBC Radio 2 Horizon award and his last two singles were mainstream playlisted on the station.
He has received rave reviews in the music press. Q Magazine said Blair was ‘an exciting glimpse of where folk music might go’, and the Guardian commented that his 2014 album House Of Jacks proved that Blair was ‘an increasingly adventurous songwriter’. The Independent on Sunday described the same album as ‘fluent, lamentory and accomplished’. His third album, Gilded, was released in May 2016 on his own label – Gilded Wings – and was widely acclaimed. His most recent album, Notes from an Island, was released in March of this year.
